From Determined Student to Business Owner & Community Coordinator

In the heart of Mile 2 Nkwen, Bamenda, in the North West Region of Cameroon, Jenny Asongwe Azah’s journey is one of resilience, faith, and transformation.

After losing her mother at a young age and facing financial hardship when her father could no longer support her education, Jenny refused to give up on her dreams. She worked as a babysitter to support herself while attending evening classes, successfully earning both her Ordinary and Advanced Level certificates.

Although university was not financially possible, Jenny pursued her passion by enrolling in a décor training institute. She graduated in February 2021, determined to build a better future, not only for herself, but for other young women facing similar struggles.

✨ A New Beginning

With financial support from our organization, Jenny was able to:

• Purchase a sewing machine

• Secure materials to begin her work

• Launch her decorating business

  
  

Today, Jenny runs a growing décor and sewing enterprise. She provides decoration services for:

• Weddings

• Birthday celebrations

• Community events

• Funerals

• Special gatherings

  
  

Her sewing machine has allowed her to expand her income streams, giving her stability and independence. What began as a dream has become a sustainable livelihood.

💛 From Beneficiary to Leader

Jenny’s impact did not stop with her own success.

Recognizing her leadership, integrity, and commitment, we appointed Jenny as our Community Coordinator in her region.

In this role, Jenny:

• Identifies and meets young women seeking assistance

• Conducts preliminary vetting to assess seriousness and need

• Submits qualified candidates to our organization

• Serves as our local voice and evaluator

• Follows up with supported women after funding

• Helps them enroll in training programs

• Assists them in launching their businesses

• Conducts on-site check-ins

• Sends progress reports to our team

  
  

Jenny ensures that every woman supported is truly committed to growth and accountability.
